A blog about anywhere in Thailand wouldn’t be complete without a mention of temples. In the town of Phimai there are five Buddhist temples.
The Thai word for temple is วัด /wat and people often use that word with the name of temples. In Phimai town the five Thai Buddhist temples are:
1. wat derm
2. wat sa-pleng
3. wat boorapa-pimon (known locally as wat bung).
4. wat mai pratu-chai (known locally simply as wat mai)
5. wat gao pratu-chai (known locally simply as wat gao)
wat mai and wat gao are both near the ancient gate pratu chai and are on opposite sides of the same road, actually directly opposite each other.
wat sa-pleng and wat bung are very close to each other near sa-pleng ancient pond.

There is one more temple in Phimai town but I will leave that for another blog post.
